Honey Sesame Tofu Recipe

This Honey Sesame Tofu recipe is a vegetarian and gluten-free option that's perfect for meatless Mondays or a light lunch. The honey and soy sauce-based sauce adds natural sweetness and saltiness to the tofu, while the minced garlic and grated ginger provide a zesty and aromatic flavor. Serve the baked tofu with steamed rice and your favorite veggies for a complete and satisfying meal that's ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14 oz or 400g) firm tofu

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

  • Sliced scallions, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

  3. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch to make the sauce.

  5. Pour the honey sesame sauce over the tofu cubes and toss them until evenly coated.

  6. Bake the tofu for 20-25 minutes, flipping once halfway through, or until golden and crispy.

  7. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the baked tofu, and garnish with sliced scallions.

  8. Serve the Honey Sesame Tofu hot with steamed rice and your favorite veggies.
